Solventum stories
To help support the Spain flood relief efforts, Solventum has provided a donation to the humanitarian nonprofit Direct Relief to assist communities as they recover and rebuild.
Over 200 people died following historic flooding in and around Valencia. Rain and damage hindered relief efforts and limited access in the hardest-hit areas.
“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the devastating floods in Spain,” said Aleksandra Dobkowski-Joy, Chief ESG & Sustainability Officer at Solventum. “We know how important support is for the recovery efforts after destruction in so many communities.”
Solventum’s donation will support Direct Relief’s continued response to provide immediate needs throughout the impacted region. Direct Relief is a nonprofit global humanitarian aid group that provides disaster assistance relief.
"As recovery efforts in Valencia continue, Direct Relief is supporting local first responder and health organizations to ensure that essential resources reach affected communities swiftly, helping residents recover from this devastating flooding event," said Dan Hovey, Direct Relief’s Vice President of Emergency Response.
One example of Direct Relief’s efforts is their work with Bomberos Unidos Sin Fronteras (BUSF), a Spanish search and rescue organization, which responded in the immediate aftermath of the flooding and continues to aid in the cleanup and restoration of essential facilities.
